Now, Tenoch Huerta, who has long been rumored to portray Namor, the Sub-Mariner, in the MCU, just gave fans another good reason to speculate. According to the actor’s recent social media post, he is currently in Puerto Rico. It didn’t take long for internet sleuths to put two and two together to surmise that Huerta could appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which recently moved production to the Caribbean country.

Since then, we’ve learned that Ironheart actress, Dominique Thorne, has finished filming her scenes for Wakanda Forever, which suggests that production is almost over. For now, audiences will have to wait until November 11 to find out if Black Panther 2 will include the MCU’s version of Atlantis. In the original comic books, Namor is a mutant and the King of Atlantis. Namor is a frequent ally of the Black Panther although the two technologically advanced nations have been on opposing sides as well. His introduction into the MCU will bring yet another fictional civilization into the mix, one that could take the center stage in the meantime while Marvel Studios plans future Black Panther films following the death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. Speaking of, Letitia Wright’s Shuri will reportedly take the lead in T’Challa’s absence, but it remains a point of curiosity as to how the film will deal with Boseman’s passing. After a brief hiatus following the premieres of Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home last December, the MCU will be active once again. 2022’s first MCU show, Moon Knight, will drop on Disney Plus on March 30 with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness set to follow suit on May 6 as well as Ms. Marvel and Thor: Love and Thunder releasing on June 8 and July 8, respectively.
