Just weeks after increasing its investment into FromSoftware’s parent company, Kadokawa, PlayStation Studios head, Hermen Hulst, has revealed that their partnership might yet yield non-gaming products. Hulst recently told Reuters that while the priority is still video games, a potential TV show or movie based on a FromSoftware property isn’t off the table. In this case, fans might finally be getting new Bloodborne material - just not in the medium they’d expected. Sony recently established PlayStation Productions to adapt its first-party titles for a lot more people to enjoy. So far, we’ve already seen this yield fruit in the Uncharted movie, which starred Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. The film is expected to get a sequel sometime in the future. Other incoming big productions include Gran Turismo, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, The Last of Us, Twisted Metal, and Horizon. For what it’s worth, PlayStation isn’t the only one who sees tremendous value in the stories of FromSoftware and its potential outside video games. Earlier this year, Bandai Namco, the publisher of Elden Ring, hinted at the possibility of more non-gaming Elden Ring content. Regardless of what the future holds for FromSoftware and Sony, it’s highly unlikely we’ll be hearing about it soon. FromSoftware is currently busy working on a DLC for Elden Ring. At the same time, it’s also deep into the development of its next game, which many believe is a new Armored Core.
