Why are fans celebrating PewDie’s Minecraft return?
This isn’t PewDie’s first time returning to Minecraft. You could argue that the entire thing started back in 2019 when fans kept on pestering him to play Minecraft Survival world. Even though he hesitated, Kjellberg went ahead. On June 22, PewDiePie posted “Minecraft Part 1”, which would later spawn an entire series of episodes and a spin-off for a total of 69 episodes. With some videos pulling in as much as 50 million views if not more, it’s easy to see how PewDiePie could have gone on and uploaded Minecraft videos for years. Unfortunately, PewDiePie got tired and walked away, much to the disappointment of his legions of fans. Kjellberg’s later statements and declarations about no longer coming back only served to rub salt to the proverbial wound. But, just as 2021 was about to end, PewDiePie decided to give his followers another reason to celebrate the holidays by uploading a new video as he explored the recent Minecraft 1.18 update, Caves and Cliffs. “We’re back with Minecraft, baby!” the YouTube superstar exclaimed before he explored his former creation in awe. He then goes on to visit all the other places in his fortress, including Dark Sven, before testing out all the changes in the latest update. Since coming back to Minecraft, the 32-year-old YouTuber has dropped more episodes with relative regularity. Naturally, fans are up in the clouds, just reveling themselves in the long-awaited return of PewDieDie. Of course, the views have followed as well. Although none of the videos have amassed 50 million yet, it’s arguably only a matter of time before that happens. Perhaps what is most interesting about PewDiePie’s latest videos is how he acknowledged how happy and excited he is to go back and play Minecraft. He also explained how he might have played Minecraft “a little bit too much” and that he “needed a break.” Now that he’s back, we’re hoping that PiewDie paces himself a bit better so he can go on for longer.
