One of the most popular and recent examples is Cyberpunk 2077, which is set in the Cyberpunk universe by Mike Pondsmith. Another good example is the multiple D&D games that are being announced left and ride. On the other hand, some video games are being turned into tabletop games as well, such as Skyrim. With that said, tabletop RPG fans have no shortage of games to play and look forward to in the next couple of months and years. Even if that’s the case, it seems that the Warhammer universe is getting yet another addition apart from Total War: Warhammer 3 and Warhammer 40K: Darktide. This is after a Microsoft store entry recently leaked a first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40K universe with the title of Necromunda: Hired Gun.

What Is Necromunda: Hired Gun?

✅ Single Player✅ First Person Shooter✅ Play as Bounty Hunter✅ Endless weapon and augment customisation✅ Upgrade, advance, and level up as you collect bounties Developed by Streum On StudioRelease Date: June 1st pic.twitter.com/cBfRcciegf — Idle Sloth (@IdleSloth84) March 17, 2021 According to the Microsoft Store leak, Necromunda: Hired Gun is a “fast-paced” and “violent” first-person shooter. It will reportedly be set in the same city, Necromunda, like that of Necromunda: Underhive Wars. In addition to the setting, the leaked store page shows a cyborg-looking bounty hunter with a trusty cyber-hound companion. In it, players will play as the said bounty hunter whose goal is to “balance” the ecosystem of the infamous city. However, being a bounty hunter, players get paid for what they do, which they can use to augment their stats and make them better at their respective jobs. Once again, it was Twitter user IdleSloth, who unearthed a couple more damning pieces of evidence that the game is in the works. Aside from details on the gameplay and the title, IdleSloth posted on Twitter a number of screenshots showing what the game could look like. If the leak is indeed real, then there are currently two first-person titles set in the Warhammer 40K universe that’s in development. However, unlike the more multiplayer-centric Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Necromunda: Hired Gun is listed as a single-player experience. More importantly, it’ll also release on the Xbox One as well. The developer, Streum on Studio, is a Paris-based independent video game studio founded in 2007. Previously, Streum on Studio worked on another first-person shooter title set in the Warhammer 40K universe in Space Hulk: Deathwing. However, the studio has not worked on another title since. But, considering their experience in the past, it’s safe to say that the game is in relatively safe hands right now. As for a release date, Necromunda: Hired Gun is expected to be available on June 1, 2021. Just make sure that you take that info with a grain of salt. This is because it is possible that it’s merely a placeholder date. This means that the game won’t release until sometime later. But, the June 1 release date is true, then fans won’t have to wait too long to play the next game set in the Warhammer 40K universe.
