While the news hasn’t been confirmed by Sucker Punch or Sony, it certainly seems like everybody is jumping in on the latest leaked information concerning Ghost of Tsushima. The leak comes courtesy of XboxEra.com founder, @Shpeshal_Nick on Twitter:

Is Ghost of Ikishima Confirmed?
Nick has made some pretty accurate leaks before. He’s also the same person who leaked the next BioShock game. In particular, he claims that Sony is planning on making the next BioShock title exclusive to the PlayStation 5. However, despite the credibility of Nick, we’d like to remind you to take this information with a grain of salt. However, it does make sense for Sony and Sucker Punch to work on a standalone DLC or expansion for Ghost of Tsushima. It would probably work similarly with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which was a standalone expansion to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man. Ghost of Tsushima was one of the biggest critical and commercial successes of the previous generation. It was such a huge hit that the developers are now ambassadors of the real-life Tsushima island with a live-action movie reportedly in the works. Coincidentally, rumors of Ghost of Ikishima started popping up just around the same time that people started speculating that Ghost of Tsushima would be headed to the PC.
When Is the Ghost of Ikishima Release Date?
According to the rumors floating around, Ghost of Ikishima is going to release sometime this 2021. When exactly is not confirmed. However, we can expect Sony to drop news of it anytime soon. The manufacturers of the Sony PlayStation consoles are expected to host another State of Play livestream showcase within the next couple of weeks. With EA Play Live 2021 scheduled on July 22, 2021, expect the next State of Play showcase to be held right around the same time.
Is Ghost of Ikishima Going to be a PS5 Exclusive?
If we were talking about the rumored Ghost of Tsushima standalone expansion in 2020, it makes sense to wonder if Ghost of Ikishima will be exclusive to the PS5. Fast forward to 2021 and it’s clear that Sony wants to support the PS4 platform just a little bit longer. Case in point, the next God of War game, as well as Gran Turismo 7, are now both confirmed to be cross-gen titles. The latter is especially surprising as it was initially revealed as a PS5 exclusive game. While it’s not sure that Ghost of Ikishima will be releasing on both the PS4 and PS5, we’d be surprised if Sony released the standalone title as a next-gen exclusive title.
