As the highly anticipated title nears its release date, fans are eager to absorb every ounce of detail possible. Players have been enjoying recent leaks about the upcoming title and have just received more info regarding the upcoming release. A number of new in-game files have been added to Vanguard, that provide new data about the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 game, bundles, game editions, and open beta. The game seemingly has three editions: Standard, Cross-Gen Bundle, and a Vault Edition. Here’s what each edition offers. It is quite interesting to see the open beta getting released for the PlayStation first. Xbox and PC players will also get a chance, but a bit later than usual. The long-time PlayStation exclusivity is expected to be gone forever once Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision officially goes through. Modern Warfare 2 will be the last title to have this exclusivity. Either way, pre-ordering any edition allows the players to try out the game early through open beta. This has now become customary for a Call of Duty game.

It seems we’re going directly to the beta stage. This says a lot about the state of the game and how well it has been developed. Considering the game has been under development for the past three years, it is fair to assume that it is in a good state. This is further proven by the fact that by the end of the recent official artwork reveal, we got the release date. The game is releasing a month earlier than anticipated. The gameplay reveal is expected on June 8, 2022. Modern Warfare 2 is set to release on October 28, 2022, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S.
