We’ve known about the plans for DLC in Cyberpunk 2077 for a good long while now, with the studio bringing up the post-launch content support of their previous game, The Wither 3: Wild Hunt, as an example of what to expect. They’re planning to follow that model to a T, releasing a string of minor, free bits and pieces of content, as well as two large paid expansions. According to the original DLC release plans, the free DLC program should already have started by now. These pieces of content would have been available for free for all owners of Cyberpunk 2077, bringing minor additions to the game like vehicles, outfits, a couple of items, maybe a side job or two. However, CDPR has decided to delay the release of these DLCs while they focus on fixing bugs and performance issues. We don’t know what exactly the free DLC will include, but these minor items will mostly serve an aesthetic purpose. Some additions may affect gameplay too, such as new weapons or cyberware, but we imagine these will comprise the minority. The main attractions are the expansions, however. In The Witcher 3, the main storyline was continued in Hearts of Stone and later in Blood and Wine, both of which added over ten hours of new content, with new locations, characters, and quests. While we won’t dive into spoilers here, those of you who finished Cyberpunk 2077 know that not every loose end has been tied up, so to speak, leaving plenty of ground to cover with the expansions. The availability and pricing of these expansions is something we can’t really predict, only guess. Both should be available sometime this year, and we expect a price in the $10-15 range for them. We expect the developers to reveal more information in the coming weeks and months.
