Bluepoint has itself to blame for all the new speculations about what it’s working on. The rumblings started when Bluepoint posted a holiday-themed image on Twitter and deleted it later. But, it’s still on the internet for everyone to see, courtesy of reports as well as this blog post.

Blog Post: https://t.co/HppaLVL4a7 pic.twitter.com/fAVO4BdhuM — Shinobi602 (@shinobi602) December 15, 2022 From left to right, the opened boxes showcase three notable games that Bluepoint Games has worked on before: Demon’s Souls, God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus. However, the most interesting part is the plain mystery box found in between the boxes for Demon’s Souls and God of War. Since Bluepoint Games has only worked on first-party Sony titles before, this helps in narrowing down the possible answers. Many are still hoping that this is a tease for Bloodborne, but this is highly unlikely. Insiders previously confirmed that FromSoftware is the only one who can make either a remaster or remake of Bloodborne. At the moment, FromSoftware is busy with post-launch content for Elden Ring, which recently won a GOTY award in Los Angeles and Japan, among others, as well as Armored Core 6. This leaves the only other logical answer, which is Metal Gear Solid. The box itself looks very plain, much like the ones Solid Snake used to hide inside of in the games. In addition, Hideo Kojima fueled rumors by posting another cryptic tweet. It’s worth noting that Metal Gear is not a first-party Sony title. Konami owns the rights to Metal Gear. But, in recent years, it has shown a willingness to outsource its most treasured properties to foreign studios. Case in point, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill F, and Silent Hill Townfall are being developed by third-party studios. Sony could’ve mediated a meeting between Kojima and Konami to make a Metal Gear Solid remaster or remake happen. This might even be related to previous rumors that a remake of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is all in the works. If Bluepoint is indeed working on a new project, don’t expect it to be announced anytime soon. Most likely, Sony will reveal this game at its next State of Play showcase, which likely won’t be until February.
