It’s nice to see a developer supporting a game that’s been out for over a decade. What’s even more interesting is that the Legacy of the Sith expansion is free. BioWare first revealed the Legacy of the Sith last July. The development team initially promised that the game’s eighth expansion would arrive on December 14. Unfortunately, BioWare later pushed back its release date to February 15 of this year in order to give themselves more time to work out the kinks and do additional tests. If there’s one thing that BioWare does well, it’s introducing iconic villains to its games. Darth Malgus is not an exception. The Sith Lord has long played a vital role in Star Wars: The Old Republic’s backstory, eventually culminating in an epic battle against the players. However, it was later revealed that Malgus survived the events of the battle. Since then, Malgus has bid his time waiting for the perfect opportunity to wreak havoc once again. It appears that Legacy of the Sith will put Malgus front and center once again as he seeks to put an end to both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. In addition to Darth Malgus, the Legacy of the Sith trailer gives audiences a glimpse of what to expect from the game once the update arrives. The video also drops clues about all the new locations and characters that are coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic in a few weeks. However, we can expect Legacy of Sith to contain much more content than it lets on. Hopefully, the game’s first expansion in a while doesn’t disappoint. In other Star Wars news, the galaxy far, far away is getting far more gaming content in the coming years. EA just confirmed that it has at least three Star Wars games in development at Respawn Entertainment. There’s also Quantic Dream’s Star Wars: Eclipse to look forward to along with a handful of other Star Wars projects from other publishers such as Ubisoft.
