With that said, arguably the most mysterious title in the entire lineup is the sequel to 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Judging from the title alone, we know that it is going to explore more of the Quantum Realm. This is the same realm that the Avengers jumped in and out of to travel through time, in order to save the timeline from the mad tyrant, Thanos. Naturally, it will revolve around the titular superheroes, as well as their respective families, the Langs, and the Van Dynes. We also know that Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror will have a prominent role in the upcoming film. Now, as much implication as the arrival of Kang might have in the MCU, one casting rumor for Quantumania suggests that the upcoming MCU film might feature a couple of baddies.
What’s Bill Murray’s role going to be in Quantumania?
Rumor has it that Ghostbusters star Bill Murray is going to appear in Quantumania. A Mandy.com listing shows a certain John Townsend as the photo double for Bill Murray on Dust Bunny, which is the production title for the MCU project. The listing gives no other details outside of this, so fans have taken it upon themselves to try and speculate what Murray is going to play as in Quantumania. Reddit, in particular, is full of discussions about what Murray’s role in the movie is going to be. Some are saying that he’ll play an older version of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. He may also join as Lang’s father. Both are certainly possible. However, others are more far-out with their guesses. For example, someone suggested that Murray could play the role of Time Master, a frequent Ant-Man villain who begins aging society using his inventions after he is forcibly retired from his job. Someone of Murray’s caliber and demeanor certainly fits a zany character with a minor but potentially memorable role in the MCU. Of course, this is all speculation. Marvel or Disney hasn’t confirmed Murray’s casting as of yet. All that we know for sure is that Quantumania isn’t set to premiere until 2023, so the film is still ways off from starting production let alone the launch date. In the meantime, fans can look forward to watching Bill Murray reprise his iconic role in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
